Is BusinessWorks Year 2000 compliant?
All versions of Business Works use the same internal date-handling structure that is designed to be Y2K Compliant. They use a “windowed” 2-digit year format. This means that within the century window of January 1, 1950, through December 31, 2049, any 2-digit year less than 50 is considered to begin with “20” and any 2-digit year greater than or equal to 50 is considered to begin with “19”. All versions of BusinessWorks also are designed to accurately determine and account for leap years. An extensive testing program is underway to verify that all parts of the most current version, Business Works version 12, are Y2K Compliant. To date, all testing has verified version 12’s Y2K compliance. If any Y2K compliance anomalies occur, they will be corrected as soon as feasibly possible for version 12 and incorporate these changes into future versions of Business Works.

What operating systems does BusinessWorks run on?
BusinessWorks runs on Windows 95, NT, 3.11, and 3.1. In addition, BusinessWorks runs on LANtastic for Windows 95, LANtastic 5.0 or higher for Windows 3.1 only, and Novell 3.11 or higher (excluding Novell Client 32). BusinessWorks can suppport up to 48 concurrent users with full file and record locking.

In what language is BusinessWorks written?
Business Works is written in C++ on a proprietary database format. The benefit of these tools is speed and reliability. You are able to get access to the database files through a read-only ODBC driver and Crystal Reports.

What kind of customer support is available?
